Abstract

This study aims to reveal how Algerian plastic art has been affected by oriental art in technical and aesthetic terms, as well as in terms of social and cultural issues by seeking ways to express these subjects in the works of Algerian plastic arts. To achieve this objective, we relied on the semiological analysis method of "Laurent Gerveiro" and we applied the steps of this approach to a set of works by the artist "Rachid Talbi" in order to reveal the social symbols and elements of Algerian culture that are linked to Orientalism.
