Figures of the divine in The Olympus of Misfortune by Yasmina Khadra

This article attempts to provide an overview of the representation of the divine in YasminaKhadra'sOlympus of Infortunes (2010). By "divine" wemean the religious, the sacred and everything that refers to God. The writer would realize, through his characters, a Trinitarian relationship between father, son and God; a relationship that would evoke Christianity, the sacred figure of Jesus Christ or the myth of the God-man.
This theme and the way in which it is perceived would give rise to a reflection on a critical posture of this religion, which posture would reveal the writer's belonging to another religious community. From the deification to the impotence and then to the death of this figure, the text oscillates between the sacralization and the secularization of this distinct divine. Thus, we expose in this article, through an analytical and mythocritical approach, the series of postures that the figure of the divine takes in this writing of Khadra, Olympus of Infortunes.
