Abstract

The aim of the study was to measure the efficiency of health systems in 10 arab countries in responding to the corona epidemic using the data envelopment analysis models –DEA-, In the entry and exit orientation, under the assumption that the CRS and VRS, we considered the allocated budget fight against the epidemic of corona as inputs, and the cure rate as outputs.

The study concluded that  Jordan is the only arab country that achieves complete efficiency, whether for input or output orientation, and Saudi Arabia has also achieved, also Saudi Arabia was able to achieve efficiency but from the point of view of input orientations only, It reflects its rational use of the budget allocated to fight the Corona epidemic. This was followed by Tunisia, which achieved efficiency but in variable return scale only.

Among the recommendations of the study that ineffective countries can benefit from Jordanian experience in the fight against the Corona epidemic, In addition, the overall rate of wasted financial resources for all Arab countries is 37.9
