Abstract

This study aims at identifying the role of the teacher in developing the citizenship for elementary students through extracurricular activities. The study uses the descriptive analytical method for a sample of 200 male and female teachers from Ouargla distributed to four educational provinces. Researchers apply a survey for most important strategies adopted by teachers for developing the values of citizenship for students. This survey is prepared by Sadeq Ebeis Mankour and others in 2016. It is composed of 30 sections distributed among three dimensions (cognitive strategies, skill strategies, emotional strategies). The study depends on comparison and observation in data collection.

The study concludes that the cognitive strategies are most used by Ouargla’s teachers, then skill strategies, then emotional strategies.
