Psychometricproperties of the translated pain measurement questionnaire for Mac-gil A field study on a sample of chronic pain patients in Ouargla-Algeria

Abstract

The present study aimed at identifying  the psychometrics characteristics of the Mc -jil questionnaire (1975).to achieve this goal, the questionnaire was applied to a sample of 200 patients suffering from pain (back pain, join pain, diabets, kidney disease).the validity of the scale has been verified using the following  two methods of validity :internal consistency and peripheral comparison. Its stability was measured by the mid-fragmentation and internal consistency by extracting the alpha kronbach coefficient.

Using the previous statistical methods, the results have resulted a high levels of validity and reliability which means that its psychometrics characteristics are consistent with the characteristics of a good test and can be used in subsequent study.
