Problems of training university professors in the English language

Abstract

The shift in teaching to English at Algerian universities has raised a number of problems, some of which are related to the shift to this language at the expense of Arabic and even the use of French, which was usually described as the first foreign language in Algeria. There are general problems related to the arrangement of languages ​​in Algerian society today, and some of which are related to the problems related to the system of training teachers in the English language that accompanied this shift and is taking its first steps in the hope of achieving the goals of this shift, through which new horizons can be drawn for the use of the English language in the higher education system and improving the visibility of the university and promoting scientific research.
