Abstract

With the advent of globalization, new forms of education have emerged, such as cross-border higher education, international scientific cooperation and virtual education, which raised several issues such as the extent of adherence to international standards of quality, and the issue of commodification of higher education. As the strategic internationalization is best suited to face challenges of globalization in higher education, a problem arose as to what is the most appropriate language for internationalization on global stage, and the answer was that the country is stronger in knowledge, is economically stronger and therefore more worthy of its language to be the global language, where the dominant trend is the primacy of English language over all other languages. But by virtue of the fact that there are several countries with emerging economies, it is likely that one of these economies will become the strongest in the future, and therefore the languages of these countries will become global languages, so the value of the language changes as the currencies change. Since the goals of higher education are to anticipate and keep abreast of scientific developments and labor markets, the student must be prepared with international standards, including mastery of several foreign languages in addition to mother tongue and official language of the state.
