Contemporary readings on computer programs and techniques in neuropsychological rehabilitation
Keywords:
neuropsychological rehabilitation; computer programs; electrical brain stimulation; modifying brain activity;Abstract
At the beginning of the 1980s, the neuropsychological rehabilitation was limited to language disorders, but today things have changed and the rehabilitation process has expanded to a group of cognitive disorders: (memory disorders - attention - executive functions - paraxia......).
This therapeutic expansion required the development of therapeutic techniques, with specialists taking into account the social, functional, family and personal dimensions. During our research and reading, we discovered computer programs intended for treatment of cognitive processes, for example: Manag'mind, which is a program to take care of working memory. We have also developed modern techniques that support rehabilitation, including the technique of modifying brain activity using brain magnetic stimulation and electrical brain stimulation, which accelerate cognitive and occupational therapy that improves learning and retention abilities and puts the brain in the best state to receive treatment. This reading aims to shed light on the latest technologies and present them in order to adopt them as principles for the development of therapeutic or evaluation tools in Algeria.
